about
The liturgical event which takes place on the morning of Palm Sunday (Rromollidhet), follows the oriental rite and is very particular. In the church of San Nicola a very brief religious function takes place at first, where the blessing of the palms and olive branches takes place, which are then distributed to the faithful. Following the brief function, the bishop on the back of a donkey, holding up a large palm tree, travels the main street of the town up to the cathedral, thus recalling the historic entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Finally, the solemn ceremony is celebrated in the church with the presence of all the Papas in the Byzantine rite.
