This collectible doll wears the Traditional Costume of Piana degli Albanesi, entirely handmade by a refined local artisan in the 70s.
Unfortunately, this artisan hasn't been making dolls for about 40 years now and therefore this piece is to be considered a real rarity as it is in perfect condition and like new.
All the elements of the doll and of the costume are absolutely original and of the period. The moving parts of the doll are perfect and all moving, including the eyes that open and close as the tilt changes.
Every element of the costume is perfect in condition and color. All the cuts of the fabric, the seams and the gold-like applications have been done by hand and with attention to every detail.
The doll's costume faithfully reproduces the typology of the original Traditional Gala Costume called Gellona, characterized by the silk skirt on which one to three bobbin lace bands are applied.
The doll is in celluloid and dates from the 70s and is in perfect condition in every detail.
