Papas Jani Stassi is Archimandrite

Yesterday, July 8 in Mezzojuso, on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the first centenary of the foundation of "Basiliane di Santa Macrina", his Excellency Giorgio Demetrio Gallaro, Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi, delivered the insignia of Archimandrita to Papas Jani Stassi .

Already in May, the Apostolic Administrator had issued the "Statikon" with the dignity of Archpriest but apparently it was a correct typo yesterday during the celebration during which the dignity of Archimandrite was confirmed to Papas Giovanni Stassi ordered the October 26, 1983.

The reasons that led to the granting of dignity to Archimandrite was "considered the priestly services carried out diligently during the years of ministry in our communities in Pianesi".

Archimandrita Stassi has always been very active in the social life of the communities where he was present and everyone has an excellent memory of him.

Always ready to help others and of mirrored honesty, he has always been a point of reference also because of his profound theological preparation.

We want to remember that Archimandrita Stassi has always been very sensitive to the protection of the monumental and artistic heritage. He was instrumental in the new layout of the museum of the Collegine Sisters in Piana degli Albanesi and in the restoration of the sacred image of the Madonna Odigitria preserved in the Sanctuary of which he was rector. In the photo below on the right, the Archimandrite explains the history of the sacred image to Professor Volpes, Superintendent of Palermo, and Professor Cedrini, head of the FAI Palermo.

We are sure that Archimandrite Stassi will still make a great contribution to our Eparchy for many years to come.
