This is the rare official catalog of the Icons and Antiminsion collection of the church of San Giorgio Megalomartire, donated by the late Papas Elefterio Schiadà.
 This Papas was for many years the parish priest of the Church of San Giorgio Megalomartire, the patron saint of Piana degli Albanesi.
 In his long life dedicated to the church, Papas Lifteri (as he was called) created a real collection of Icons and Antiminsion (rectangular cloth where the deposition of Christ is painted).
 His Icons (about 80) came from Mount Athos or had been painted in Greece by high profile iconographers. There is also no shortage of productions by local artists.
 Papas Lifteri decided to donate this collection to the church of San Giorgio Megalomartire and to exhibit it in the adjacent rooms, which had been granted on loan by the Municipality of Piana degli Albanesi.
 Thus was inaugurated this exhibition curated by the papas with the collaboration of the Committee of San Giorgio, Giuseppina Demetra Schirò and Vita Masi.
 This catalog, in addition to representing the dream and will of Papas Elefterio Schiadà, is a rare and precious document.
