Wear the Traditional Costume
Make your dream of being dressed in sunlight come true.
Service Description
With this exclusive experience, you can fulfill the dream of wearing the traditional women’s costume of Piana degli Albanesi. The traditional costume is chosen to make any special occasion truly unique. It is worn by brides on their wedding day, by women wishing to participate in religious celebrations, and during the Easter Sunday procession. It is also worn for film shoots and exclusive events. The traditional women’s costume has several variations. The one featuring a brocade skirt is called Pampinija. Other variations include a skirt entirely hand-embroidered in gold (ncilona), and a rarer, ancient version featuring bobbin lace bands applied onto a silk skirt (gellona). The costume is complemented by precious jewelry still handcrafted by local artisans. This is why the women who wear it are said to look "dressed in sunlight." WHAT WE OFFER WITH THIS EXPERIENCE The experience we offer includes: Full costume rental in the Pampinija variation (brocade fabric), including the modern Saint George’s Brezi (belt buckle) and the Rosary (other jewelry is excluded). Service area: limited to Piana degli Albanesi, for a maximum duration of four hours. Assistance: throughout the dressing and undressing phases, an expert will assist you and explain the symbolic meaning of every part of the costume you wear. Upon request, assistance can be provided for the entire duration of the experience. OTHER COSTUME VARIATIONS All other variations of the traditional costume—with hand-embroidered skirts, bobbin lace bands, or the bridal costume—are available as extra add-ons. EXTRA SERVICES Professional photo shoot services are also available, curated by photographer Alessandro Ferrantelli, a regular collaborator with Nikon. DISCLAIMER The listed fee applies strictly to the service provided under the stated terms. The final price will be agreed upon based on your specific requests.
