About the event
🇬🇧 On the occasion of Holy Week in Piana degli Albanesi, this exclusive event with limited capacity has been created.
The meeting point is the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Odigitria in Vittorio Emanuele Square. The private tour will start at 10:30 AM and will last approximately 90 minutes.
With this exclusive tour, you will visit behind closed doors:
The Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Odigitria, the only church designed by Pietro Novelli. Preserved here is the sacred image of the Madonna Odigitria, which, according to popular tradition, was the icon brought from their homeland by the founders in the 15th century—a sacred icon that holds a marvelous history you will discover during the visit.
The Museum of the Collegio di Maria, housing sacred vestments of the Byzantine rite and precious 17th-century icons. This museum represents the living testimony of Arbëreshë history and, better than any other place, embodies the unique cultural identity of Piana degli Albanesi.
