The Holy Week in Piana degli Albanesi is the Arbëreshe Easter characterized by the Greek-Byzantine rite that makes it unique and suggestive. The Feast in honor of San Giorgio Megalomartire, patron saint of Piana degli Albanesi, has been integrated into the program. On the occasion of Holy Week it is traditional to wear the precious traditional female costumes entirely embroidered in gold. on Easter Sunday, at the end of the Pontifical, it will be possible to admire hundreds of these traditional costumes that will parade up to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
